In April and May 2026, our school proudly participated in a series of cultural events dedicated to Lithuanian Language Month, celebrating creativity, integration, and the strong connection between language, identity, and community.

One of the highlights was the opening of the exhibition "The City of My Childhood" at Vilnius City Municipality. This marked the exhibition's third venue, following its successful displays at the Visitor Centre of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and within our school. Located in the heart of Vilnius, the exhibition invited visitors to see the world through the eyes of our students.

More than an art exhibition, The City of My Childhood became a heartfelt conversation about the meaning of home. Through paintings inspired by cities such as Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Vilnius, our students shared their memories, dreams, and personal stories—capturing places that continue to live in their hearts despite the distance. Their artwork reflected resilience, hope, and the power of childhood memories.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the project's artistic director, Marina Nesvytailo, and to all of our young artists whose honesty, creativity, and courage made this exhibition so meaningful.

The celebration continued with the closing event of Lithuanian Language Month, held at Vilnius City Municipality, where the final stage of the children's creative competition "My Story of Lithuania" took place. During the event, participants revisited the конкурс entries, celebrated the creativity of all young authors, and announced the competition winner.

For our school, this initiative represents much more than an artistic competition. It reflects our commitment to respecting and embracing the country that has welcomed our community. We believe that learning the Lithuanian language is an important step toward integration, mutual understanding, and active participation in Lithuanian society. As Ukrainians, we deeply understand the importance of language as a foundation of identity, culture, and national resilience.

The event also featured the exhibition The City of My Childhood and announced an upcoming online charity auction of students' artwork, with further details to be shared with the community.

One of the most touching moments of the celebration was the joint musical performance by our 3rd and 4th-grade students together with Marina Pylypenko, choir conductor and artistic director of the SAVI Choir. Their performance symbolized friendship and cultural unity while serving as a prelude to the Vyshyvanka Choir 2026 initiative—a large-scale Ukrainian-Lithuanian choir project dedicated to Vyshyvanka Day, held in Vilnius in May 2026.

These events demonstrated how language, art, music, and cultural exchange can bring people together, creating a supportive environment where children can express themselves, build meaningful connections, and grow as confident members of an inclusive European community.
